Description
We review the field of polarized deep inelastic scattering, with the primary focus being on fixed target experiments. This field of study has impact on fundamental test of QCD and provides information on the internal spin structure of the proton and neutron. One notable result is a reasonably accurate determination of the quark contribution to the proton's spin, namely Δq ≅ 20%. (author)
