Correlation between the spectrum of long-range alpha particles and the fragments in the spontaneous fission of 252Cf

Description
The four-parameter correlation technique and ΔE-E identification are used to investigate the correlation between the spectrum of long-range alpha particles (LRA particles) and mass ratio of the fragments as well as the correlation between the spectrum of LRA particles and the total kinetic energy of the fragments. The results show that when the mass ratio of the fragments varies from 1 to 2, the most probable energy of LRA particle decreases gradually and the average energy of LRA particle also decreases, but slower than the most probable energy does. It is observed that the quasi-Gaussian characteristics of the alpha spectra appear mainly in the near symmetric fission with the mass ratio less than 1.3. As the total kinetic energy of the fragments increases, the most probable energy and the average energy of LRA particles tend to decrease gradually
