Description
Results of a treatment protocol for T2 bladder cancer combining low dose pre-operative irradiation followed by external iliac node dissection, partial cystectomy and iridium 192 implantation are described. In 30 patients treated from 1972 to 1984, no local recurrences and only two new bladder tumors (7%) were observed. Crude five year disease free survival is 55% (11/20). These favourable results have been obtained in a carefully selected population with unifocal tumors not exceding 5 cm and not involving the bladder neck
