On nuclear liquid-gas phase transition via multifragmentation and fission
Description
The temperature dependence of the liquid drop fission barrier is considered with the critical temperature as a parameter. The comparison is made of the experimental and calculated data on the fission probability for highly excited 188Os. It is concluded that the critical temperature of the nuclear liquid gas phase transition is higher than 10 MeV. One should take it into account while interpreting the caloric curve in nuclear multifragmentation. 16 refs., 4 figs
