Carbon fiber-reinforced composite carbon material having excellent thermal shock resistance and production thereof

Description

A carbon fiber-reinforced carbon composite material of the invention comprises highly pure carbide felt internally impregnated with graphitized pyrolytic carbon. This composite material has an excellent thermal shock resistance and is favorable as, particularly, the first wall of an apparatus for confining nuclear fusion plasma or a member of a rocket.
