Production of c anti c-quark pairs as a possible signal for the existence of quark-gluon plasma
Description
The processes of canti c-quark par production in a quark-gluon plasma at temperatures of the order of the c-quark mass are studied in the framework of perturbative quantum chromodynamics. It is shown that due to the fast grouth of temperature ad c anti c-pair production probability the pair densry becomes comparable with the light quark density of consideration of equilibrium production of charm particles as a signal for the existence of the quark-gluon plasma is discussed
