Description
The influence of the fusible metal melts on the mechanical properties of the armco iron samples active stretching has been studied. Used for the tests have been cylindrical samples, pre-annealed at 1100 deg C in the 6-103Pa vacuum during 2 hours. Cd, Ga, Bi, Pb, and Sn melts as well as Pb-Bi and Bi-Cd eutectics have been used as the working media. The tests have been carried out in the vacuum chamber with a residial pressure of 10-2Pa in the 200-600 deg C temperature range. It is shown that the Rebinder adsorption effect features may be very diverse. The Cd, Bi and Sn melts in the vacuum are characterised by a decreased sample strength and ductility. The strength of the Ga melts in the vacuum reduces, while its ductility does not change. The Cd and Sn solutions in air do not affect the strength of the armco iron, but reduce its ductility. The largest influence of the medium on all the melts (except Ga) is observed at 350 deg C. The results obtained testify that all the melts are active as related to the armco iron
