Description
Ionic liquids have been used as new reaction media in photochemistry. In this article, basic properties of ionic liquids as solvents are briefly reviewed, such as dielectric constant, micro-viscosity. The results of solvation and photodetachment of iodide in ionic liquids are presented as an example of photochemical system. (author)
