Cluster synthesis: possible mechanism of activation

Description
The article deals with the determination of numerical analysis of a possible contribution of the most efficient trajectories which are realized during the collision of a cluster with the surface of a deuterium target. It is shown that for the collision of (D2O)N clusters, collision configurations of linear chain type considerably enhance the probability of synthesis reaction. This can be the basis for the explanation of a high yield of reaction products of D-D synthesis initiated by the bombardment of deuterized targets with accelerated clusters of heavy water
