Influence of hydrogen on the diamagnetism of sintered YBa2Cu307

Description

The absorption of small amounts of hydrogen has no noticeable effect on Tc while there are drastic modifications of the magnetic properties: we observe a strong decrease of the low-field susceptibility and a suppression of the higher-field hysteresis. These results can be explained if one admits that hydrogen modifies essentially the inter and intragrain Josephson couplings as well as the percolative morphology of the superconducting regions through the formation of a hydride
