Cano Limon changed the economic perspectives of Colombia completely; country that at the beginning of the years eighty confronted conflicting situations regarding the exchange handling, the exports had fallen substantially and the fiscal deficit affected the finances of the state. From final of the years seventy, until when the development of Cano Limon, Colombia took place it suffered a severe economic crisis, summarized in such aspects as the growth of the GDP it fell at inferior levels to 2 annual percent in 1982 and 1983
