Electric quadrupole interactions measured by nuclear orientation and NMR on oriented nuclei
Description
Author discusses some aspects of low temperature nuclear magnetic resonance on oriented nuclei which relate to the measurements of electric quadrupole hyperfine interactions. Technical possibilities and limitations of nuclear magnetic resonance studies on oriented nuclei in measuring the magnetic and electric components of mixed hyperfine interaction are described. Using these methods one can obtain not only magnitude of quadrupole interaction but also the sign. (S.B.)
