Quantification of orientational ordering of SF6 in solid xenon matrices

  • 1. Los Alamos National Laboratory, University of California, Los Alamos, New Mexico 87545

Description

Relations are derived from which one can estimate the degree of orientational ordering of molecules trapped in low temperature matrices from polarized infrared absorption spectra. Application of these relations to SF6 in xenon matrices is presented
