Description
During the course of a crystal structure determination of caesium dithionate it was noticed that radiation damage occurred under the influence of the X-rays used in the diffraction experiments. In the present paper a molecular model for the damage centres is proposed on the basis of ESR studies. One centre showing hyperfine structure with 133Cs is assigned to the SO3- ....Cs+ radical ion. Another centre is tentatively ascribed to the SO2-radical ion. (author)
