BWR type reactor fuel assembly
Description
The present invention concerns a fuel assembly having plutonium(Pu)-enriched fuel rods used in a BWR type reactor. That is, fuel rods present in a region including the outermost position and the corners at the second circumference in a square lattice-like fuel rod arrangement are partially exchanged with fuel rods not containing Pu. In particular, the fuel rods at the outermost circumference do not contain Pu. With such a constitution, although many kinds of fuel rods with low Pu-enrichment degree are used, the kinds of MOX fuels can be reduced while minimizing the reduction of the loaded amount of Pu per fuel assembly by partially exchanging fuel rods in the region with uranium fuel rods which do not contain Pu. Accordingly, burdens in view of economy and processing step upon PU fuel rod production can be reduced. (I.S.)
