Method for recovering palladium and technetium values from nuclear fuel reprocessing waste solutions
Description
An invention is described which contemplates a method for recovering palladium and technetium values from a nitric acid nuclear fuel reprocessing waste solution. The solution is contacted with an extractant of tricaprylmethylammonium nitrate in an inert water-immiscible aromatic or aliphatic hydrocarbon. Palladium and technetium values are selectively extracted from the waste solution and stripped from the extractant with an aqueous solution of 4 to 8 molar nitric acid. (O.T.)
