46% of the Britons favor the construction of new reactors and 43% agree with public funding

According to an opinion survey of 2034 British people performed in may 2013, it appears that 46% of the persons think that new nuclear power plants should be built in UK and 43% think that state subsidies can be used. The reasons most often stated for the renaissance of nuclear energy are the reliability of nuclear power and its low-carbon content. Concerning the 29% of the persons who refuse new nuclear power plants, about 73% think that nuclear energy is dangerous and 70% reject nuclear energy because of the issue of nuclear wastes. (A.C.)
