Description
Na3VO4.3H2O, Mr=237.95, trigonal, R3, a=8.5099(3), c=7.7876(3) A, V=488.40(4) A3, Z=3, Dx=2.427 Mg m-3, λ(CuKα1)=1.540562, λ(CuKα2)=1.544390 A for lattice parameters, λ(MoKα)=0.71073 A for intensity measurement, μ=1.59 mm-1, F(000)=354, T=298 K, final R=0.017 for 494 unique observed reflections. The O atoms and the water molecules are arranged like cubic close packing of spheres, the Na and the V atoms being situated in octahedral and tetrahedral interstices respectively. The NaO6 octahedra form a three-dimensional network through edge-sharing. The VO4 group shares its corners but no edges with these octahedra. (orig.)
