  • 1. CNNC Key Laboratory of Uranium Resource Exploration and Evaluation Technology, Beijing Research Institute of Uranium Geology (China)

Description

Mengqiguer uranium deposit is one of large interlayer oxidation zone sandstone hosted uranium deposits in the south of Yili basin, the deposit is quite different to deposit 511 and deposit 512 in the ore buried depth, orebody locating and ore minerals. Based on the study of X-ray diffraction and SEM, clay minerals in Mengqiguer uranium deposit were analyzed in their total content, types and distribution feature and compared with those of clay minerals in deposit 512 and 511. The affection of clay minerals on the precipitation and enrichment of uranium was discussed in the formation of Mengqiguer uranium deposit. (authors)
