Broad emission lines in active galactic nuclei. I. An atlas of Hα and Hβ profiles

Description
High quality Hα and Hβ spectra of a sample of 29 Seyfert 1 galaxies and low redshift QSOs are presented. The typical resolution is ∼3 A and the signal-to-noise in the continuum exceeds 50:1 in most Hα spectra. The sample extends over a range of 9 magnitudes in absolute luminosity. The broad line profiles have been isolated by subtracting the continuum and blending lines, including the narrow components of Hα and Hβ and the Hβ/Hα ratios as function of velocity are derived and included in the atlas
