Dependence of light yield of scintillation fibers of refractive index of sheath

Description
Simple formulas are derived for calculating the dependence of the amount of light emerging from the end of a fiber used as a detector on the refractive index of the sheath. Good agreement with experimental data obtained for polystyrene scintillation fibers is shown
