Description
The thin NaI(Tl) detector for dark matter search experiment was developed. We developed the 3 layered NaI(Tl) detector whose dimension of 6.6cm x 6.6cm x 0.05cm. The performance of a thin NaI(Tl) detector, the background reduction power and the sensitivity to WIMPs dark matter were tested. The good energy resolution of 30% (FWHM) at 60 keV was obtained. The background was reduced to 1% in the low energy region by using the signal selection and appropriate shield. The sensitivity to WIMPs corresponds to 10-25 cm2 for the mass about 50 GeV. (author)
