Complex action and quantum gravity

Description
We give a general framework of quantum mechanics for the system of Lagrangians containing complex total-derivative terms. After being examined for the harmonic oscillator, our formalism is applied to Einstein gravity. It leads to a systematic quantum theory of Ashtekar's new canonical gravity
