Repression of the false alarm for radiation monitoring instruments
Description
The repression of false alarm is an important issue in need of consideration in the design of radiation monitoring instruments. This paper presents a design scheme against the origination of false alarm, based on the mathematical analysis of the action of the fluctuating continuous signals on the set alarm threshold. In particular, nearly complete repression can be, in practice, achieved by employing a scheme of unequal-weighted signals of events contributing to alarm adjustment. (author)
