Description
The exposure rate was studied of radiation scattered in the air near collimated gamma beams. At a distance of 1 m from the source the scatter radiation dose rate is of the order of 1% of the primary radiation dose rate. The ratio of the secondary to the primary radiations increases with growing focal length. It is shown that in calibrating detectors, the fact should be taken into consideration that the secondary radiation dose rate is several per cent of primary radiation dose rate. (Ha)
