Numerical solution of the two-dimensional nonlinear heat conductivity problem on moving grids

Description

For the numerical solving of the two-dimensional nonlinear heat conduction problem a transition to a moving coordinate system is used. The local speed of the latter is chosen in such a way that the process under study in it is close to stationary. Such a choice of the coordinate system leads to a concentration of grid nodes near the solution features. This allows to improve the quality of the obtained numerical solution with a small number of computational grid nodes. The numerical algorithm is tested on the heat wave propagation problem, which has an exact solution

Abstract (Russian)

Для численного решения двумерной задачи нелинейной теплопроводности используется переход в подвижную систему координат. Локальная скорость последней выбирается таким образом, чтобы исследуемый процесс в ней был близок к стационарному. Такой выбор системы координат приводит к сгущению расчетной сетки вблизи особенностей решения. Это позволяет улучшить качество получаемого численного решения при малом количестве узлов расчетной сетки. Численный алгоритм протестирован на задаче о распространении тепловой волны по нулевому фону, имеющей точное решение
