Calibration of the new IRD photographic dosemeter according to the new ICRU operational quantities

The film dosemeter supplied by the IRD external monitoring laboratory was characterised so as to allow the evaluation of effective dose equivalent in terms of the new operational radiation protection Quantities recommended by the International Commission on Radiation Units and Measurements (ICRU). The performance of the calibrated dosemeter was evaluated through an international intercomparison organised by the International Atomic Energy Agency. The results of the intercomparison show that the IRD film dosemeter is capable of determining the new quantities within acceptable limits for individual monitoring. (author)
