To the theory of magnetohydrodynamic wave propagation in a turbulent plasma flux

  • 1. Gor'kovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (USSR)

Description

The low-frequency waves propagation in a weakly non stationary randomly inhomogeneous magnetoactive plasma is considered. In approximation of geometric optics statistic characteristics of Alfven and fast magnetoacoustic waves are calculated. The wave parameter fluctuations are shown to substantially depend on their type. The plasma instability leads to temporal spectrum broadening for initially monochromatic wave and to energy exchange between the wave and the medium. Most strongly these effects are manifested, when the plasma motion velocity is approaching the Alfven velocity
