A catalogue of criteria helping to evaluate the consequences of technological developments

The catalogue of criteria worked out by the paper abstracted helps to give a systematic and detailed description of the consequences implied by the different alternative energy sources and systems. It particularly allows to evaluate the four energy paths developed by the Enquete Commission. The consequences described refer to energy systems, energy demand, energy supply and the effects of the respective paths on society and individuals. The relevant criteria were chosen with the help of different groups such as trade associations, trade unions or nature protection organizations. (DG)
