Florid computed tomographic appearance of acute Campylobacter enterocolitis

Description

The case study of a 28-year-old male presented with severe abdominal pain and bloody diarrhoea s discussed. Computed tomographic scan showed marked swelling of the distal ileum and entire colorectum. Based on CT scan findings the patient was diagnosed with acute infectious gastroenteritis caused by Campylobacter jejuni, which was subsequently grown from his faeces.
