Communication Received from Switzerland Concerning its Policies Regarding the Management of Plutonium
Description
The Secretariat has received a Note Verbale dated 3 September 2007 from the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the IAEA in the enclosures of which the Government of Switzerland, in keeping with Switzerland's commitment under the Guidelines for the Management of Plutonium (contained in INFCIRC/549 of 16 March 1998 and hereinafter referred to as 'Guidelines') and in accordance with Annexes B and C of the Guidelines, has made available annual figures for its holdings of civil unirradiated plutonium and the estimated amounts of plutonium contained in spent civil reactor fuel as of 31 December 2006.
Abstract (Spanish)
La Secretaria ha recibido una nota verbal, de fecha 3 de septiembre de 2007, de la Mision Permanente de Suiza ante el OIEA, en cuyos anexos el Gobierno de Suiza, en cumplimiento de su compromiso contraido en virtud de las Directrices para la gestion del plutonio (transcritas en el documento INFCIRC/549 de 22 de junio de 1998 y a las que en adelante se denominara 'directrices') y de conformidad con los anexos B y C de esas directrices, ha presentado las cifras anuales de sus existencias de plutonio no irradiado de uso civil y las cantidades estimadas de plutonio contenido en el combustible gastado de reactores de uso civil, al 31 de diciembre de 2006.
