The influence of small cationic contaminations upon alkaline self diffusion between molten salt and glass

Description
It is shown, that the equalionic exchange between alkaline ions of a molten salt and a glass surface can be blocked almost completely by special divalent cations (Ca, Sr, Ba) at temperatures > 400 0C. Three different model glasses of the alkaline-alumo-silicate type were examined. (author)
