Description

The beam method known in optics has been applied to the stationary two-dimensional MHD equations in the kinematic approximation. The possibility of such an approach is determined by the fact that, in both cases, the equations belong to the class of the disturbed singularity equations. The basic formulae of the beam method have been derived, the beam coordinate system has been constructed. It has been shown that, in the zero approximation, the magnetic field lines behave similarly to the wave fronts in optics. The law governing the refraction of the magnetic field lines has been established. The fundamental solution for the case of the inhomogeneous flow of a conducting liquid has been obtained and compared with the known solution for the homogeneous flow
