Estimation of alpha-particle dose from 226Ra to blood

Description

For a man with a body burden of 1 μCi 226Ra, the calculated dose to blood is 0.09 +- 0.03 rad/yr from alpha particles. One-third of this dose comes from cancellous bone, two-thirds from compact bone. The beta particle dose is less than 3 percent. (U.S.)
