Description

The process of coherent reflection of neutrons from a magnetized crystal is discussed. The dependence of the total intensity of the reflected beam on the crystal magnetization is shown to have a ''bend'' at the point where nuclear and magnetic scattering amplitudes are equal in magnitude and the beam is completely polarized. This phenomena can be used for preparing of neutron beams with polarization differing from unity by an amount of order 10-3. 11 refs
