Upper critical fields of superconducting rare-earth molybdenum selenides

Description
Upper critical fields, Hsub(c2)(T), for superconducting LaMo6Se8, Lasub(0.8)Eusub(0.2)Mo6Se8, Lasub(0.8)Cesub(0.2)Mo6Se8 and PrMo6Se8 were measured. For the best material, LaMo6Se8, Tsub(c) =11.3 K, (dHsub(c2)/dT)sub(T=Tsub(c)) = 70kG/K and Hsub(c2) (4.2K)=370 kG. These selenide compounds show promise as very high field superconductors. (Auth.)
