On total neutron widths of isobaric analog resonances

Description

A method for calculating the GITA decay width of the isobar-analog state (IAS) in levels of complex configuration with an energy near the isobar-analog resonance (IAR) due to residual nuclear interaction is proposed. This width practically coincides with the neutron width of IAR. Calculation of GITA for O+-IAR in a 208Bi nucleus is given. The method proposed yields a better agreement of theory with experiment, although it does not eliminate all the contradictions. The method permits generalization for the case of taking into account coupling of proton channels of IAR decay. It is supposed that account of the channel coupling may appreciably modify the decay widths
