Two singular point finite element in the analysis of asymmetrical branched crack in an infinite plate

  • 1. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Bombay (India)
  • 2. Indian Inst. of Tech., Bombay (India)

Description

A formulation for incorporating two singular points of variable orders in a single finite element is presented. The element meets two of the convergence criteria. A degenerate form of this element is an one singular point element, which meets all the convergence criteria. Both the elements have been used to analyze asymmetrically branched crack in an infinite plate
