Description
Density functional theories have proven to be a very powerful tool in many fields of physics, particularly in solid state and atomic physics. A major problem in the different approaches is the question of appropriately approximating the exchange-correlation functional. Here the authors outline a method to include many body correlations to arbitrary order and to construct a density functional which exactly describes the equilibrium properties of the inhomogeneous electron gas. 5 references, 1 figure
