Self-shielded accelerators for radiation technology

A comparison is made between self-shielded electron accelerators and accelerators of similar electron energy and beam current shielded by enclosure in concrete boxes. Figures are presented for required area and relative costs. Other aspects of design are also discussed briefly. (U.K.)
