Description

The MGC-20 type cyclotron of ATOMKI, Debrecen (Hungary) is described, with special attention to its application as a neutron source for various biomedical purposes. A brief overview of the neutron production components, beam handling and target chamber is presented. Applications include in-vivo and in-vitro fast neutron activation analysis and fast neutron radiography, human radiotherapy, radiation biology research, radioisotope production.
