Simultaneous recovery of Cs (I) and Sr(II) from simulated high level waste solution using chlorinated cobalt dicarbollide and polyethylene glycol in a fluorinated solvent

  • 1. Radiochemistry Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)

Description

Distribution studies on Cs(I) and Sr(II) were carried out using chlorinated cobalt dicarbollide (CCD)and polyethylene glycol (PEG) in phenyltrifluoromethylsulphone (PTMS) from simulated high level waste (SHLW). Batch co-current data is reported here for the simultaneous co-extraction of Cs and Sr from SHLW. Quantitative extraction of Cs(I) and Sr(II) from SHLW was observed in four stages. (author)
