Adsorption of tetranitronitrosylruthenate on activated charcoal

Description
Sodium tetranitronitrosylruthenate Na2[RuN0(N02)0H]2H20, labelled with 106Ru, was prepared and its properties and adsorption behavior on activated charcoal were studied. The ruthenate was well adsorbed on activated charcoal of Tsurumicoal HC-30 (8-28 mesh). The adsorbability was increased by addition of the organic cation of zephiramine or methylene blue at pH4-8. The adsorbability was lowered by the introduction of dodecylbenzenesulfonate or Emulgen 220, but raised by further addition of zephiramine. The adsorbed ruthenate was not easily desorbed with water.
