Processing of ADS cross-section library-ADSlib2.0 for MCNP

  • 1. School of Nuclear Science and Technology, University of South China, Hengyang, Hunan (China)

Description

Accelerator Driven System (ADS) is a sub-critical reactor driven by high energy spallation neutrons, which is used for Long-life High radioactive Waste (LHW) transmutation. Neutron energy in ADS is higher than traditional reactors, which limits in ENDF data is lower for ADS and some reaction cross-sections are missing. In this paper, ADSlib2.0 which is special ADS data for MCNP calculation is processed by MAKXSF using IAEA-ADS cross-section library. The comparison of fission cross-section of 238U between ADSlib2.0 and evaluated nuclear data libraries that include ENDF/B-VII.0, JEFF-3.1 and JENDL-4.0 shows that our cross-section library processing is applicable.
