Spin content of the nucleon in a relativistic quark model

Description
Based on an effective potential U(r)=ac/2(1+γ0)r2 and the relativistic quark model for baryons, the coupling between a pion, a nucleon and a Δ (1232) is calculated. The pion admixtures for the three-quark nucleon wavefunction indicate that this approach has similar properties to the chiral quark model. Our numerical results for the nucleon observables agree qualitatively with the chiral quark model. (author)
