Radiographic findings of the spleen involved by malignant lymphoma
- 1. Kanazawa Univ. (Japan). School of Medicine
Description
Radiographic findings of splenic involvement in malignant lymphoma were studied. The existence of splenic lesion was determined by following criterias; 1) nodular lesion in the spleen, 2) change in size or shape of the spleen, 3) positive result of 67Ga scan. Splenic involvement was seen in twelve out of 60 patients and it was classified into nodular and diffuse types. Nodular lesions were demonstrated as low density on CT, hypoechoic on US, and increased activity on 67Ga scan. It is difficult to detect the diffuse involvement by CT, US, or 67Ga scan. (author)
