New formulation of the constituent quark model for projectile fragmentation in hadron-hadron and hadron-nucleus collisions
Description
Constituent quark model for projectile fragmentation in hadron-hadron and hadron-nucleus collisions is reformulated by taking into account (i) quark-antiquark annihilation, (ii) quark flavour content in the central region and (iii) quark shadowing effect. The model provides a satisfactory explanation of strong long range correlations observed in the projectile fragmentation regions of inclusive reaction πsup(+-)+p-> or anti p + anything, πsup(+-)+A->p,anti p,Λ or anti Λ + anything p+p->Λ or Δ++ + anything and anti p+p->anti Λ or Δ++ + anything.
