Improved transmission calculations for mini-orange magnetic spectrometers

Description
A method to calculate the transmission function (luminosity) of mini-orange magnetic spectrometer systems is described. Inhomogeneities of the toroidal magnetic field, fringe-field effects, as well as luminosity losses due to backscattering effects at the detector surface are found to have a significant influence on the transmission of the system and are included in the calculations. Very good agreement between measured and calculated transmission functions is obtained. (orig.)
