Description
A nonlinear theory of plasma wave in a travelling wave tube has been used to determine the frequency, gain, and start up current of the exciting oscillator which are valed for supercritical currents. It is shown that as the beam current increases, the emitted power approaches saturation resulting in a drop in efficiency. Thus high current beams are not well suited for plasma wave generation
