Tackling the pressurized thermal shock issue
Description
The effects of neutron embrittlement on the behaviour of certain PWR vessels during over-cooling transients are discussed. The research into this problem which EPRI is carrying out is described. The work includes thermal hydraulics testing and evaluation, integrity assessment analysis, plant specific analysis, neutron dosimetry and remedial action evaluation. (U.K.)
